Health

Health Dispensaries

Location: Puducherry and Cuddalore

Providing medical services to an average of 700+ patients every month
Catering to a population of 8500 families
This year we have incurred an expense of Rs.8.74 Lakhs at Puducherry and Rs.3 Lakhs at Cuddalore respectively so far

Drinking Water Initiatives

Location: Puducherry and Cuddalore

Providing safe drinking water to the community around Solara’s Puducherry site.
we are maintaining 5 RO water plants at different location of Puducherry incurring a cost of Rs. 7.35 Lakhs till Nov ’21
Kudikadu village which is in the vicinity of our Cuddalore unit are facing acute scarcity of drinking water.
To mitigate this, we have volunteered to supply safe drinking water to these two villages incurring an expenditure of Rs.7,41 Lakhs thus far

Pandemic Support

Provided a 30 bed Covid Care Centre at Pondicherry University Campus – in collaboration with Strides and Puducherry Government
Provided 15 Oxygen Concentrators / 25 Oximeters / 10000 surgical masks /1000 Packets of 100 grams Kabasura Kudineer choornam to the Government PHCs and Government Hospitals through District collectorate @ Cuddalore
Distribution of Survival kits / Grocery as a support to flood victims in Konkan region-Maharashtra - 300 families benefitted- Ambernath initiative

Distribution of isolation kits - 2000 kits at Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Hospital – Ambernath initiative
1000 Home Isolation Kits handed over to Tahsildar of Nanjangud, Mysore. 5000 cotton reusable masks were given to the Covid front line workers through DySP – Nanjangud. Sanitizers and masks distributed at K S Hundi, Hallididdi, Nanjangud and surrounding villages @ Mysore
3000 Masks and 10.5 liters of Sanitizer distributed to public through Thalambur Police Station as support against Pandemic - SRC Chennai initiative

Education

Best student award: To recognise and reward academic achievement of the Government school children we are giving cash awards to school level toppers of the SSLC and HSC of Government girls and boys school in and around our unit at Puducherry.
NEET coaching classes: Adverting to the request of number of girl school students, for the first time on a trial basis we initiated a crash course with the help of Alpha Bansal group for the students of Government girls school, Kalapet.
Law college & University Support: Over a lakh of rupees was sponsored to the students of different depts of Puducherry University and Government Dr. Ambedkar Law college for various events.
Life Skill Training & Examination Coaching: Life skills training was organised for the students of Govt Boys & Girls Higher Secondary School of Kalapet. Career Guidance & counselling was also imparted
Examination Skill development program to X std: Skill development examination at SVRCC college for the Government schools of Kalapet. 350 students participated and were benefitted.

Special coaching on Mathematics: About 50 students of XI & XII std from Chevalier Sellane Govt Boys school were identified for a special coaching classes in mathematics for 4 months to help them succeed in their academics of which 32 have passed.
Association for Children & Women Empower Development (ACWED): Sponsorship was given to support the activities of women welfare at the Women development dept in Pondicherry University.
A Computer Desktop was provided to Government ITI – Cuddalore
Kudikadu Play School Renovation Work: Infrastructure improvement of a play school was taken up Kudikadu Play School at Cuddalore.
Infrastructure Improvement: Digital library @ Dr. Ambedkar Government Law School Puducherry - Digital library incl Interior Work, AC, Lighting & Furniture for the benefit of Law students - 400 benefitted. Smart class @ Ambernath Govt ITI - Provided 16 desktop computers, 2 Printers and 1 UPS system to ITI Ambernath to benefit 1700 students.

Environment

Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav – 75th Independence Day Celebration - sponsored 10,000 saplings to Puducherry Govt.
Tree plantation & green belt – Total area covered under green belt - 6133 Sq.ft and 2093 plants were planted on both sides of periphery @ Ambernath unit.
Tree plantation & Social Forestry - Sapling Plantation and urban forestation in collaboration with our NGO partner Thuvakkam at SRC Chennai.

NGO Support & Public awareness

Other Activities

Location: Puducherry and Visakhapatnam

With the intention to support the police department in maintaining the law and order in the Kalapet region, we had taken up installation of CCTV camera covering Kanapathychettikulam, Peria Kalapet, Chinna Kalapet, Pillaichavadi (ECR main road) junctions and the PIMS hospital with the control panel at the Kalapet police station.
T- shirts were sponsored to 400 inmates of Prison in Puducherry Central Prison recommended by LG office.
Road Safety awareness – to bring Public awareness a documentary movie on road safety was created in association with the Puducherry Police.
Sponsored medical treatment of a police personnel who was injured during the public riot.
